Description:

LITTZMANNSTATT GHETTO MONEY
An uncommon group of seven pieces of currency issued in the Jewish ghetto of Littmannstatt, all bearing the Star of David and Menorah, issued on Jan. 1, 1943. The bills are in 1 Kroner, 2 Kronen, 5 Kornen, 10 Kronen, 20 Kronen, 50 Kronen and 100 Kronen. Jews confined to the ghetto were required to redeem their regular currency for these bills, which were theoretically redeemable at some point for normal currency. In actual practice, however, this currency was unusable outside of the ghetto in which it was issued. All seven pieces very good to fine condition.
