Description:

"LIFE IN CAMP" CARDS
An interesting collection of ten ironic cards depicting caricatures of Union soldiers at camp. The carte-de-visite size cards are printed in red, white and light blue, and show scenes such as "Tossing in a Blanket" in which a hapless soldier is thrown in the air on a blanket held by his comrades; "An Unwelcome Visit, in which sleeping soldiers are awakened by a donkey entering their tent, and "Building Castles", which shows a soldier smoking a pipe. Published by L. Prang of Boston, with partial, worn original cover titled "Life in Camp". Cards are in very good condition.
