ROBINSON DUCKWORTH (1834-1911) British Canon of Westminster, present in the original boating expedition of July 4, 1862 during which Alice's Adventures were first told by Lewis Carroll.
He is represented by the duck in the book, a play on his last name. A.L.S. 4pp. small 8vo., London, June 16, 1895, on black-bordered mourning letterhead to Mr. Crisp, in part: "...I am sorry to say it is too late this year to apply on behalf of your friend, as arrangements were made a month ago with Prof. Henry Morley to deliver a course of Lectures on English Literature and the syllabus of them will appear in the July Magazine...". Very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
