(1872–1967) Inventor and entrepreneur who built the eponymous "L.L. Bean" outdoor gear and clothing empire after successfully experimenting with waterproof boot designs in Freeport, Maine. T.LS. on vintage L.L. Bean letterhead, 1p., 4to., Freeport, May, 11, 1955, to Little League Baseball official and feature editor Mickey McConnell. In part: "...I certainly want to thank you for your very nice letter of recent date... Since working on my Little League Score Books I have become very much interested in your articles...". Fine.
