CHARLES LAMB (1775-1834) English essayist, best known for his Essays of Elia and for the children's book Tales from Shakespeare , which he produced along with his sister, Mary Lamb. A.L.S. "C. Lamb" with integral address leaf, 1p. 12mo., London, [n.d.] to Charles W. Dilke, editor of the Athenaeum. In part: "... [Publisher Edward] Moxon has some verses of mine to [?] for you, pray forgive the trouble, if I beg you to return them to me immediately for correction and you shall have them back without delay, if you shall desire it... " Slightly toned, address leaf stained, else quite good. $400-500
