Description:

KURT DALUEGE
(1897 - 1946) Chief of Security Police in SD central office, appointed SS-Oberstgruppenfuehrer (1942), succeeded Heydrich as Deputy Protector of Bohemia and Moravia. Hanged by the Czechs in 1946. Great content and association T.L.S. as Chief of the Ordnungpolizei, 2pp. 4to., Innsbruck, August 22, 1938, an urgent letter to Gauleiter of Vienna JOSEF BURCKEL about the establishment of a police department in Innsbruck - six months after the German annexation of Austria. In large part: 'In Innsbruck I have to accommodate the state police command and other police units. Since a new building would mean an unbearable delay, I have considered the neighboring, former mental hospital and disinfection facility next to the building...As early as April of this year, I agreed in principle with the mayor of Innsbruck to buy the clinic and the disinfection facility. During the first negotiations, a purchase price of S 450,000 was quoted for the clinic. During the discussion on April 25, the city declared that it was no longer bound by this purchase price...Such behavior by a city leader towards the Reich seems quite incomprehensible. It's clear...a compromise is not possible without justified objections from the highest accounting authorities. The mayor's rigid adherence to an unjustifiable price significantly delays the urgent placement of the police, and gives the impression that state policy imperitives are being capitalized on...I therefore ask you, dear party comrade Burckel, to induce the Lord Mayor to finally conclude the contract...and to hand over the required street to the Reich on agreeable terms...' Marginal files holes, else fine.
