In part: "...If you would like me to listen to some of your tapes, I would be very pleased to, but I must tell you that we have already hired a composer for this film... ". Fine, with transmittal envelope possibly signed by him "S. Kubrick " in block letters in return address. Kubrick had in fact hired famed composer "Dr. Strangelove" composer Alex North to score the film, but ultimately used pre-recorded classical tracks. $250-350
