Description:

KNIGHTS CROSS WITH RIBBON AND CASE
Mint condition Knights Cross with case and ribbon, manufactured by Klein & Quenzer, awardee unknown. The cross bears the proper nearly-perfectly centered "800" stamp at top of reverse of frame, as well as properly-shaped "800 65" ( the "65" being the maker's mark) imprint at one end of the suspension loop. Raised ridges meet perfectly at corners. Frosting remains virtually unblemished. The correct period unmarked hinged black leatherette case bears the impressed border on the top lid, the interior of which is lined in padded white satin with no manufacturer's name, and the case is only lightly worn. Ribbon is correctly woven, lacking the miniature Iron Cross ribbon. A finer example would be very difficult to locate.
