MYLES W. KEOGH Very rare war-date A.L.S. "M. W. Keogh ", 4pp. 8vo., [n.p.], Oct. 21, 1863 to his brother Tom. In part: "...I have too few real friends in this world to sacrifice any...Richard & Dan arrived in America at the time of the battle of Gettysburg. Much as the inconvenience was to Gen. Buford, I left him to go to Washington...they did not come...and after the battle, where we were fighting every day, I had a letter from Dan...I got a general to take Dan on his staff as a volunteer. I got him a horse, arms, clothes &c...asked him for the commission of a 2nd Lt. For [Dan]...If I could resign and let him have my commission I would do so to save him the hardships...
