Description:

Keith Haring Signed "Absolut Haring" Print
First gaining public attention with chalk drawings in the subways of New York in 1980, artist and social activist Keith Haring continued to devote much of his time to public works, producing more than fifty public artworks during the 1980's in dozens of cities around the world. His now famous "Crack is Wack" mural has become a landmark along New York's FDR Drive. Inspired by graffiti art and New York's 1980's street culture, his legacy is steeped in socio-political themes and concepts of birth, death, love, sex and war. When he began painting on canvas in the mid-1980's, however, Haring created several pop art pieces, including this now iconic screen print of an Absolut Vodka bottle titled "Absolut Haring." Only 100 of these signed, 33" x 45" prints were produced in 1986, the largest screen print attributed to Haring. Signed and dated in pencil by the artist. MT., with COA and with appraisal from Absolute Americana Art Gallery.
