Description:

KARL WOLFF
(1906 - 1975) Colonel-general in the Waffen-SS, liaison officer for Himmler with Hitler, German military governor of Northern Italy. War-date T.L.S. on his 'Der Reichsfuhrer-SS' official letterhead, 1p. 4to., Berlin, Aug. 28, 1938 to RICHARD HILDEBRANDT (1897-1952) SS-Obergruppenfuhrer and chief of the SS Office of Race and Resettlement. As a war criminal, he was found guilty of the kidnapping of alien children, forcible abortions, taking away infants of Eastern workers, forced evacuation and resettlement, utilization of enemy nationals as slave labor, euthanasia, and a host of other charges. Turned over to the Poles, who quickly executed him. In part: '...Thank you very much for your letter from Feldberg. I am very pleased that you seem to have enjoyed it there so much; I hope the Black Forest air gave you the rest you needed! Your suggestion to use Dr. Fahrenkamp, ??whom I personally also hold in high esteem, in the staff of the Reichsfuhrer-SS in the mob case will probably be met. The realization of your suggestion to invite Dr. Fahrenkamp and his wife to the Reich Party Congress in 1939 seems very doubtful, however, due to the lack of accommodation and tickets. Only under the condition that one or two participants cancel will it be possible to send Dr. F. an invitation at a later date....' File holes in left margin, else very good. The man mentioned may have been EMIL FAHRENKAMP (1885-1966), a German architect and professor. Fahrenkamp received Nazi commissions for exhibition buildings, and had dealings with Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels, Hermann Goring, and Albert Speer
