KARL MAUSS
(1898 - 1959) German panzer lieutenant general, one of the most distinguished tank commanders of the Wehrmacht. Commanding the 7th Panzer Division, he was one of only 27 ever to receive the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds. Rare war-date D.S.,1p. 8vo. [n.p., Eastern Front], July 20, 1944, an award of the Iron Cross, 2nd Class to a lance corporal of 6 Reg., 7th Panzer Grenadiers. Folds, some edge wear, else very good.
