KARL LIEBKNECHT
(1871 - 1919) Co-founder, with Rosa Luxemburg of the Spartacist League and the German Communist Party who led an unsuccessful uprising in Berlin in January 1919. Liebknect, together with several associates, was interrogated, tortured and killed. His rare signature "H[err?] Karl Liebknect " adding the date, Nov. 11, 1917. Accomplished while serving a prison sentence for treason for addressing a May Day rally in 1916 in Berlin. He would be released from prison in October 1918. Matted with a postcard portrait of Liebknecht. Overall fine condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
