Description:

An excellent document and medal grouping from the service of Meister der Schutzpolizei Peter Busch, including an excessively rare award document signed by JURGEN STROOP (1895-1952), SS and Police Leader of the Poland-Warsaw area. It was Stroop who, during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943, ordered its suppression costing the lives of tens of thousands. This is quite a complete archive, documenting Busch's service. Army Unteroffizier Busch from St. Ingbert served during World War I and received the Iron Cross, 2nd Class. On Jan. 26, 1942 he was awarded the Bulgarian Service Medal for Combatants, and that document, 1p. 4to., is present (the award for service in World War I). On June 14, 1939 Busch was awarded the 18 Year Police Service Medal. That document, 1p. 4to. and facsimile signed by Joachim Meissner, is present. Also present if his award of the West Wall Medal, made on Feb. 15, 1940, again signed in facsimile by Meissner. On June 26, 1942 Meister der Schutzpolizei was awarded the the Luftschutz Ehrenzeichen, 2nd Class, this too signed in facsimile by Meissner. On Hitler's birthday, April 20, 1944, Busch was awarded the War Service Cross, 2nd Class. The 1p. 8vo. document, issued in Wiesbaden, bears a large, very bold signature of Gruppenfuhrer and Generalleutnant der Polizei JURGEN STROOP as Hohe SS Polizeifuhrer, Rhein Westmark. The (unmarked) medal itself and its packet marked by A D Baumeister are also present. This is an especially rare document by Stroop, the first such we have seen, as he is almost exclusively found only in official correspondence. Finally, Busch's six-place ribbon bar is included showing all of the awards described here. A very rare grouping, in excellent condition.
