Description:

(1885 - 1946) Nazi journalist and politician, editor of "Der Sturmer" and virulent anti-Semite, executed at Nuremburg. STREICHER DENIED FINANCIAL INVOLVEMENT WITH "DER STURMER" Fine content partly-printed D.S., 1p. 4to., [Nuremberg], Nov. 25, 1945, in German. Streicher completes and signs in pencil an International Military Tribunal application form for a Defendant's Application for Summons for Witness, addressed to the General Secretary. In this particular application, Streicher requests that Hans Gassner, the publisher of Streicher's notorious anti-Semitic newspaper "Der Sturmer", be summoned to testify on Streicher's behalf: "...that I did not bother with the financial and business matters of publication, that at the end of the year I showed no interest, and monthly drew only 1000 RM for managing my household. I gave him full control in respect to all financial matters." Also signed by HANNS MARX, Streicher's defense attorney. With translation. Professionally de-acidified, intentionally avoiding the signature, thereby creating a slightly darker shading around the signature. Fine. Provenance: From the personal archives of Hans Werner, Director of Printing at the International Military Tribunal and responsible for overseeing the printing of the Record of the Trial of Major War Criminals for the Nuremberg Trials.
