JULIA WARD HOWE
(1819 - 1910) American writer and reformer whose stirring "Battle Hymn of the Republic" rallied Union sentiment. Excellent A.Q.S. from her patriotic song "Battle Hymn of the Republic", penned on a 9" x 3" sheet, in full: "'Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord' Julia Ward Howe September 1908". Slightly toned and soiled with a few tiny marginal chips, folds at right, mounted on a heavy cardboard with a transmittal A.L.S. "J.W.H.", 1p. 8vo., St. Louis, [Sep., 1908], in full: "I have written the line of the Battle Hymn on a longer slip of paper, with name and date in full. J.W.H.".

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry.
