(1744 - 1774) American patriot and lawyer who, with John Adams, defended Capt. Preston and his soldiers against charges levied against them following the Boston Massacre, was one of the first to urge separation from England, served as an agent to England seeking support from American sympathizers there. Rare A.D.S. "Jh Quincy" 1p. oblong 12mo., Boston, July 16, [n.y.], an order to "Mr. Thomas K. Jones, Sir Please to pay Mr. John Smith Twenty Two pounds on account of Jh Quincy" Light toning, light marginal wear, ink erosion to one letter in text, else very good condition.
