In part you were kind enough to give to Bowdoin College... the sum of E 10, 000... applied towards the founding of the chair ofmental and moral philosophy. Chamberlain mentions that a lady has also given E50,000 to fund a similar chair, and asks the trustees to consider a new department for funding: ...as the College authorities may find expedient...
