Scarce A.L.S. 2pp. on a folded, black-bordered sm. 8vo., note card bearing a coat of arms with the Latin phrase "Semper Paratus Ad Arma" (Always Prepared to Arms), [Washington, 1889], addressed to Miss Fairchild, likely the wife of Treasury Secretary Charles Stebbins Fairchild. In full: "Will you give me the pleasure of your company at luncheon on Thursday January the thirty first at half past one o'clock...".
