342. ANDREW JOHNSON Manuscript D.S. as President, 2pp, folio, Dec. 27, 1865, New York. Johnson grants a pardon to a man convicted of counterfeiting United States fractional currency. Countersigned by JOHN HAY as Acting Sec. of State. With the original transmittal letter from the U.S. Marshall addressed to the Warden at Sing Sing prison sending Johnson's pardon and requesting that the man be discharged upon receipt. Right edge slightly trimmed, the Marshall's letter tipped to the top of the pardon, folds and age toning. Very good. Should be viewed. $600 - 800
