Description:

JOHN WAYNE GACY
(1942 - 1994) Notorious mass murderer of over thirty young men whom he buried beneath his home, executed after many appeals and postponements. I.S.P., 8 x 10 in. color, a print of the most iconic Gacy image of him dressed as a birthday clown, signed by Gacy at the right margin. This photo is accompanied by a number of other items including: photo of Gacy, again as a clown; photos of original Gacy artwork, one showing the self-portrait of Gacy as a clown and the other of Charles Manson; a copy of an article titled ‘When crime does pay' discussing criminals ‘cashing in on their notoriety', focusing on Gacy and Manson; a printed article detailing how Gacy made money on paintings he completed while in prison; a flyer showing a collage of Gacy paintings; two advertisements for an exhibition by Arthur Deco featuring Gacy's artwork approx. two weeks before his execution in 1994; what appears to be a sardonic ‘math exam' created by Gacy with problems posed through topics such as weapons, drugs, pimping women, pregnancy, prison time, murder, etc.; and copies of several letters such as an unnamed person writing in favor of Gacy, an approval of Gacy to sell his manuscript, a ‘cease and desist' order from Gacy, and a copy of his County of Cook, Illinois affidavit. Also present, is an entire looseleaf copy of his manuscript ‘Question of Doubt'. Overall very good.
