Description:

JOHN WAYNE GACY (1942-1994) Notorious mass murderer of over thirty young men whom he buried beneath his home, executed after many appeals and postponements. A substantial grouping of documents, including some lengthy manuscripts in Gacy's hand, signed pieces, and annotated items, all obtained or created and kept by Gacy during his incarceration while attempting to appeal his conviction. The collection, about one linear foot, includes: an autograph manuscript, 9pp. 4to. and headed "Insanity", in which Gacy lists dozens of cases which used an "insanity" defense, including "irresistible impulse" (used in the defense of Jack Ruby); a printed analysis of the case of fellow mass murderer JUAN CORONA, 28pp. 4to., hand-signed "Gacy" at top of first page; a 2pp. 4to. list of "Motions Filed by Defense" in Gacy's hand, signed "Mr. Gacy" in the text, a long list of Gacy's legal maneuvering January, 1979; a list of the names of psychiatrists and hours they spent interviewing Gacy; Gacy's typed copy of a list of lawsuits filed against him ($428 million); Gacy's bound volume of several hundred pages containing copies of his account of a meeting with the FBI, a few dozen copies of letters to and from Gacy concerning his case and appeals (many docketed by Gacy), complaints to his warden, solicitations, clippings, etc.; Gacy's copy of the approx. 500pp. 4to. court transcript of the Jan. 28, 1980 "voir dire" potential juror interviews and a 400pp. transcript of the Jan. 30 interviews of of potential jurors; Gacy's copy of an approx. 750pp. 4to. binder of appeal briefs; and two of Gacy's copies of court extracts of the trial of fellow murderer ELMER WAYNE HENLEY. A most interesting look into one of the country's most notorious serial killers.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
