JOHN SULLIVAN
(1740 - 1795) American Revolution major general captured at Long Island and exchanged, he later wintered at Valley Forge, and was abandoned by D'Estaing to face the British at Newport. A.L.S. signed twice "Jno Sullivan " and "JS" 1p. 4to. Durham, Feb. 6, 1769 to Hunking Wentworth informing him that "...Mr. George Wentworth is now upon the point of bringing an action at Next Court to Recover the Legacy given to him by Mr. George Wentworth Decd. I should be glad that the matter might be accommodated without a suit. I conversed with Col. Atkinson upon the Subject & he has no objection to our bringing an Action To Try the validity of the will & hope you have no Objection To his trying the strength of a will in which he is so deeply Interested...". Usual folds, irregular margins, else fine condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry.
