JOHN PIERPONT MORGAN(1837 - 1913) American banker and financier who founded J.P. Morgan & Co., reorganized American railroads and founded U.S. Steel. Partly-printed D.S. "J. P. Morgan", 1p. 4to., May 14, 1906, a stock certificate for five shares in the North Butte Mining Company, signed by Morgan on verso. This handsome certificate bears a vignette at top of miners at work, with stamp cancels at bottom and a cut cancel at left margin. Very good condition.
