John Nixon 1733-1808 Revolutionary patriot and financier, member of the Committee of Correspondence, with Washington at Trenton, and was the first to publicly read the Declaration of Independence. L.S. 2pp. 4to., Philadelphia, Sep. 26, 1808 to James West. Nixon writes an involved letter concerning a land transaction and the possibility that new road construction would greatly increase the value of the two tracts mentioned. Light toning, with Nixon's signature bold and dark.
