In part: "…I have to acknowledge receipt of your letter…and to inform you in reply…that William Hart Jr, of California was appointed Consul of the United States for Port Louis, Mauritius, on the 15 of February 1854…". WITH a signed Department of State card. WITH a passport, 1p, 1900, with a stamped signature of Hay. Three pieces.
