(JOHN HANCOCK) A letter written to John Hancock by Abner Holmes of Plymouth in an A.L.S. 2pp. legal folio, Plymouth, Nov. 21, 1791 recommending a man for justice of the peace for Hanover, Mass.: "...I am informed that since the indisposition of the Honble. Joseph Cushing Esqr. there is no Acting Justice of the Peace in the Town of Hanover, and as there is small probability of his ever recovering his health again I suppose that some person will soon be appointed as a Justice in that Town- If there is no person which your Excellency has particularly in view...take the liberty of recommending one...Mr. Molzar Curtis who is the present Representative of this Town in the House of Representatives...". Partial fold separations, small loss from seal tear, light toning, otherwise very good.$75-100
