(1815-1882) U.S. Army career officer, Superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Union general, Chief Engineer of the Army of the Potomac. War-date A.L.S. as Chief Engineer of the Army of the Potomac, 2pp. 4to., Washington D.C., Dec. 19, 1861, a letter to General Erasmus D. Keyes (1810-1895), regarding the troops garrisoning nearby forts. In part: '...it is not in my power to say what troops are to garrison the forts along the Line occupied by your division. I have reported to the Commanding Gen. the condition of...your line and urged that measures should be taken to assign garrisons to them...I am unable to draw up a formal statement of all the works from Queens Farm to Great Falls at the present moment...' Fine condition. Keyes, who previously commanded a brigade at the First Battle of Bull Run, was appointed by McClellan just a month earlier to command a division in the Army of the Potomac.

International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
