Assassinated November 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald. Unusual content T.L.S. as Senator with fine holograph postscript on Senate letterhead, 1p. 4to., Washington, Mar. 18, 1954, to L. J. Hart, Secretary of the Gloucester Fisheries Association. In part: "...I have your letter...relative to a ruling of the Bureau of Customs concerning import rates on fish sticks. As you may know, I have been working with Tom Rice on this matter...with regard to raw fish sticks, he advises that the decision which you object to is presently under review by the Bureau...when the information...is assimilated, the Massachusetts Fisheries Association will be extended an invitation to appear before the Bureau...". With a fine holograph postscript: "If you have any other thoughts on this, I will be glad to try & carry them on". Very slight paper clip impression to top left corner, otherwise very good to near fine, with a fantastic signature.
