JOHN A. LEJEUNEA.L.S. "John A. Lejeune" 4pp. 8vo., aboard the U.S.S. Bennington, Cadiz, Spain, Jan. 30, 1893, to his mother. In part: "...The time is slowly drawing near when we must start for home if we wish to arrive there in time for the Naval Review, so that I hope we will be on our way soon...We will have a long tedious trip ahead of us...We leave here tomorrow morning to go out for target practice with great guns and then go to Gibraltar without returning here...We will be in Gibraltar three or four days only and every one will be very busy, as coal and stores [?] for the ship will have to be bought to last for a long trip...We have heard nothing of the Newrk [?] since her departure but expect her back in ten days or two weeks...". Folds, otherwise very good, with original transmittal envelope addressed to "Mrs. Laura A. Lejeune" .
