Description:

(1880 - 1968) German infantry general, until 1932 commanded 3. Division and commander of Wehrkreis III, Berlin. He then was involved in publishing the 'Berliner Borsenzeitung'. After the July 20 plot, he was arrested as a 'politisch unzuverlassig' ('politically untrustworthy') and imprisoned in a KZ. Good pair of signed items, includes a fine content T.L.S. on his personal letterhead, 2pp. 4to., Oberaudorf, Oct. 24, 1959, in German to a researcher. In part: '...I lived until 1945 in Potsdam...Then the Russians came, threw my large family and me off my property and only allowed us to take the bare necessities. So I lost all my memories, files, and the like. Only a very small part of my written materials were later found scattered in the nearby forest...' He then describes a number of items he was able to recover from the forest, including a 6.5 x 4.75 in. photo of himself and Fritsch which he signs on the face and the verso, which is included in the lot. Two pieces, fine condition.

International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
