Description:

JEFFERSON AIRPLANE
Seminal rock band from San Francisco, pioneers of the 1960's psychedelic rock movement and main feature during 1967's "Summer of Love" whose music and concerts sold incredibly well. A lot of three typed D.S.'s regarding rights to the song "Milk Train" from Jefferson Airplane's 1972 LP Long John Silver, a D.S., 1p., 4to., Mamaroneck, Nov. 3, 1972, informing the band of RCA's intention to reproduce Milk Train for commercial purposes. The contract notes that the single's suggested retail price would be $6.29 and the royalty of $0.01 per sale would be split evenly between GRACE SLICK and "PAPA" JOHN CREACH, the band's lead singer and oft-times fiddler, respectively. Slick signs at bottom in blue ink over the crossed out signature of John Creach. A third typed D.S., 1p., 4to., New York City, November 27, 1973, gives copyright of Milk Train to RCA. Boldly signed "Grace Slick" in blue ink, while a fourth, 1p., 4to., New York City, November 27, 1973, gives copyright of Milk Train to RCA. Boldly signed "Papa John Creach" in blue ink. 1972 and the release of Long John Silver would be the Jefferson Airplane's last original effort before their 1989 reunion, with the band dissolving after their September 1973 Winterland shows in San Francisco, during which Slick and Creach performed Milk Train on the first set. Slight folds not affecting signatures, else very good to fine. Four pieces, very good.
