Japanese Imperial Army photobook published by the Military Society Publishing Department on July 10, 1930, 95pp. folio with red boards. With a foreword from the Ministry of the Army stating this book was released in an effort to ‘show the majesty of the army'. Images include: troops serving as rooftop security in Taiwan; drills in the mountains, beaches, and snow-covered hills; taking care of the wounded; convoys; artillery; wading through rivers; hand-to-hand combat training; leisure time; weapons inspection; official headshots of high ranking officials; horse shows and military games; bombing expeditions, tanks; the training of military dogs; medical units; different types of heavy bombers and other aircraft; the release of balloon bombs; the last photo depicting Emperor Hirohito; and so much more! The spine has completely separated from the book and is held together with tape, also displaying some wear to the covers. A great collection of photos, worthy of a closer look.
