Description:

James Sullivan 1744-1808 American Revolutionary, a member of the Massachusetts Committee of Safety who later pressed for adoption of the Constitution. Good content A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Boston, July 7, 1802 to Judge Bourne. In part: Judge Wolcott, Judge Smith and yourself [were appointed] as referees in regard to the old state house in Boston... we were in hopes that Judge Wolcott could have attended. he also adds his hopes that Bourne will take the time to attend the next meeting. Some staining, one chip in left margin, with tape repair on verso at top. Overall good condition.
