JAMES MCNEIL WHISTLER
(1834 - 1903) American artist, a portrait painter with a pugnacious attitude best remembered for the portrait of his mother seated in a rocker. A superb Whistler piece, a signed photograph of his painting Crepuscule in Flesh Colour and Green Valparaiso, 10" x 7" (with mat, 20" x 15"), showing a large group of sailing vessels at anchor in a harbor. Very nicely signed beneath the image on mat in pencil "Whistler" and adding his ornate "butterfly" paraph. In near fine condition, ideal for framing.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
