Craig writes to his old comrade, in full: ‘I see by the papers that your district has Honored itself by nominating you for Congress – I am a working man now; but would like to visit and if possible work a little for you when your Campaign opens. When you publish your appointments if you will send me a paper containing them, I will try hard to get off for a week or so, and go with you to some of them – and either speak or still-hunt.' he signs ‘Jas. Craig' in black ink at the conclusion. Shows original mailing folds with small splits thereto, with faint toning to the top edge, otherwise in very good condition.
