1837. IRISH MOBSTERS IN THE THIRTIES A great typed D.S., 2pp. 4to., New York, April 23, 1938 in which New York detective James J. Whalen reports on the activities of "Westie" Mickey Hogan, a drug addict and counterfeiter. Hogan is described as the girlfriend of Paddy Knapp, a known "gunman, narcotic user and gangster" whose sister is about to be released for counterfeiting. He also mentions: "Mickey was known to conduct disorderly houses...she had a Negro maid who smoked the pipe with her..." He then goes into further detail about the various other counterfeiters and criminals associated with Hogan and Knapp, including the fact that Hogan even had the audacity to pay one of her "pros" in spurious bills! Very good. $100-150
