Description:

IRAQI FIGHTER-BOMBER CONTROL PANEL
A terrific relic from the Gulf Wars, an Iraqi military aircraft control panel, nearly complete, labeled in both English and Cyrillic characters! The shield-shaped panel, 23" wide at the base and 17" tall, bears 14 dials and about 25 switches. It was apparently an engineer''s panel as the dials and switches concern generators, voltage converters, ground power supply, starboard and port bus bars, "CO2-GAS-PROTECTION OF GUN", etc. Every item is marked in English, sometimes broken English, though a few dials and one label still bear Cyrillic letters. The back of the panel is another story, with every single component bearing Cyrillic characters and obviously of Russian manufacture. Two large pin-type plugs and rubber-wrapped cords are attached to the back of the panel. Some paint chipped, one dial, probably a clock, is lost, else very good. Of course, until 2003 all of Iraq''s aircraft were of Russian manufacture. This panel likely came from one of those aircraft, the English labeling used to accommodate the crew who were trained on English-labeled equipment. A neat relic!
