(INDIAN DEED FOR WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND)
Manuscript Document, 1p. legal folio, [Rhode Island, n.d.] being an eighteenth century true copy of a purchase of land from local Indians in 1654. The deed involves the purchase of a large tract by Ezekiel Hollymand and Randal Howldon of Warwick from Tacommonon "...Right Owner of all the meadows and mowable land upon a neck of ground commonly called by the English by the name of Petawhommet neck Scituate and being upon the great River called by the Name of the Nanhygansett bay lying over against the South end of that neck of Land called Shawomett wich Bay is the east Bounder and that River commonly called by the English Potowommett River... for the Space or length of four miles according to the English Account up by the Said Potowomett River westward from the said Nanhygansett Bay..." Usual folds, light toning and marginal wear, else very good condition.
