IMPERIAL GERMANY 120TH INFANTRY REGIMENT TUNIC
Pre-World War I Imperial German dark blue wool tunic for a member of the 120th (2nd Wurttemberg) Infantry Regiment. Secured closed by seven brass buttons, with three brass buttons on either cuff. The cuffs are trimmed in red wool and a gilt wire band, the collar matching. Pinned at the collar on either side are two brass badges bearing the Seal of Wurttemberg. Held in place at the shoulders by brass buttons are red wool shoulder straps with the regiment number ‘120' embroidered in yellow. A World War I Iron Cross, 1st Class is pinned on the left side, marked on the reverse ‘44' for manufacturer Jakob Bengel of Oberstein. The interior is lined on the top half by heavy khaki and the bottom half in blue cloth. Faded stamps on the lining include: RA XIII, 1903, 1908,', further marked with two-digit numbers down the left edge. Vented at the rear with three brass buttons on either flap. The flaps and front are trimmed in red piping. A very attractive tunic bearing no flaws.
