Description:

ILYA GLAZUNOV
(b. 1930) Russian realist artist whose works reflect historical and religious themes influenced by Eastern Orthodoxy and iconography. Oversize I.S.P. 9" x 12" b/w, an image of one of his ironic paintings depicting an impoverished, elderly Russian veteran seated before a montage of Russian and international propaganda images such as a Vietnamese soldier with the slogan "Happiness to You, Vietnam", Gagarin, Marx, Lenin, and other luminaries within the history of Russia. Vertically signed in Russian at left margin, adding date 1978. Light edge wear and chipping, folds to corners, overall very good.
