HUBERT MEYER
(1913 – 2012) German SS commander who commanded the SS Division Hitlerjugend in 1944. After the war, he became active in HIAG, a Waffen-SS negationist lobby group, and was HIAG's last chairman before the group dissolved in 1992. Small selection of two T.L.S.s and an A.L.S., 4pp. total, the A.L.S. on two sides of a correspondence card, Leverkusen, 1978-79, in English. Meyer writes, in part: '...I am so sorry that you can't buy our book. I understand well that it is a high price in respect of the financial situation of the United Kingdom in relation to Germany. But I would like that the brother of our old brave opponent in Normandy can see it. Please allow me that I ask the editor, the Munin Verlag at Osnabruck, to send you a copy free of charge.....I am sorry that I can't send you any badges and so on. I lost nearly all my uniforms when I became POW' (18th January 1978), and in the other two letters making arrangements to meet his correspondent in Germany. Very good.
