Description:

HOWARD R. HUGHES
(1905 - 1976) American industrialist and aviator, an eccentric billionaire who controlled RKO, founded the Hughes Tool Corp., and built and flew the enormous airplane "Spruce Goose". Fine signed item, a menu from a July 30, 1938 banquet held at the Rice Hotel in Houston, honoring Hughes and his crew for their recently-completed record-breaking flight around the world. The menu is signed inside by Hughes in blue ink, as well as his crewmembers: HARRY CONNOR, DICK STODDARD, EDWARD LUND and THOMAS THURLOW. Shows a heavy vertical crease, not affecting the signatures, else very good.
