658. JAMES EAGER HOWARD (1752-1857) Officer in the Continental Army who received a medal for his actions at Cowpens. Wounded at Eutaw Springs. His signature "J. E. Howard", signed late in life, on a 2" x 3/4" slip mounted to an 8vo. engraving of Howard. Small tear at bottom, otherwise very good. $100-150
