HARRY HOUDINI (1874-1926) American magician known for his ability to extricate himself from handcuffs and locked and sealed containers of all kinds, and campaigned against mind readers, mediums, and other charlatans. Rare D.S. 1p. oblong 4to., [New York], Aug. 30, 1921, a stock certificate for fifteen shares in the Houdini Picture Corporation,110 numbered 1013, issued to Joseph Feather. Houdini formed his corporation in 1921 after his break with the Lasky Corporation, with whom he had made two pictures. Under his own label he produced and starred in two films, The Man from Beyond (1921) and Haldane of the Secret Service (1923). He gave up the business in 1923. Boldly signed at bottom.
