Horace Greeley 1811-1872 American journalist and founder of the New York Tribune which advocated abolition, and universal amnesty and suffrage. Greeley also posted bail for Jefferson Davis. Nice content A.L.S. on Tribune letterhead, lp, 8vo., New York, Feb. 26, 1865 Greeley writes a general a letter of recommendation for Greeley's cousin: "...who has lost one brother in battle for his country ...a patriotic [?]family, who with their old father vote right every time. .." Fine.
