428. HERBERT C. HOOVER (1874-1964) 31st President of the United States whose attempts to reverse the course of the Great Depression led to his defeat at the polls by Franklin D. Roosevelt. T.Ms.S., 1p, 4to, [n.d. but 1955 from accompanying correspondence, on Lincoln Library letterhead, Shippensburg, Pa.], being a typescript of Hoover's "Bill of Rights for Boys" in eight statements. In part: "...He has the right to play so that he may stretch the imagination and prove his prowess and skill...He has the right to affection and friendship...He has a right to health protections that will make him an inch taller than his dad...". Accompanied by the original request from the Director of the Lincoln Library and transmittal letter. Boldly signed in dark green ink. Fine. $200 - 300
