Signed items from five Jews able to escape death at the hands of the Nazis. Included is: German journalist NERIN E. GUN, imprisoned at Dachau and other camps, his memoir "The Day of the Americans" (New York: Fleet Publishing), 1966. 318pp. 8vo. The book is warmly inscribed the author to an American veteran who was present at the liberation of Dachau. The book bears nine additional inscriptions by camp survivors, many listing multiple camps at which they were held, family members who died, etc. WITH: REV. HYACINTH DABROWSKI Polish priest, Dec. 7, 1982 to the same American veteran, thanking him and his fellow soldiers for his liberation at Dachau, "and that of my fellow 864 Roman Catholic priests,liberated that day...you appeared to me - known as Number 30271 - as the giver of life. For us the infamous days of Holocaust were days of death..."; copy of a letter thanking the same soldier, ink-signed by a "Gladys Kerfgolt[?]"; signature of Imre Boros, hidden by Raul Wallenberg in Budapest in 1944 (laminated); and signature on a card of "Schindler Jew" Mindy Romlier[?]", held at Plaszow. Overall very good.
