934. OLIVER WENDELL HOLMES (1809 - 1894) American man of letters; a poet, novelist and doctor who wrote The Poet at the Breakfast-Table and Old Ironsides. Nice content A.L.S. on Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court letterhead, "O.W. Holmes" 1p. 8vo., Boston, Jan. 28, 1895, to an unnamed gentleman, in part: "...I believe I have not thanked you for a copy of a letter by my father...I have been so busy in Court that if I repeat myself I hope you will forgive me. I shall send the letter to the gentleman who has taken charge of selecting and editing in case it would be advisable to publish...". Very good condition, handsomely framed with a 5" x 7" sepia photograph by Moreci, New York. Not examined out of frame. $600 - 700
