Description:

HOLLYWOOD GREATS
Important 1950 Copacabana nightclub cardboard handbill introducing "A New and Exciting Personality" , Desi Arnaz, and his Rhumba One Orchestra, boldly signed on verso by: FRANK SINATRA, LUCILLE BALL and GEORGE RAFT in blue fountain pen. In 1950, Lucy and Desi's pilot script for a television sitcom was rejected by C.B.S. on the grounds that people would be offended by seeing a wholesome American girl with a Cuban husband. Lucy, in her quest to prove C.B.S. wrong, soon after developed a touring vaudeville routine in which she played a zany housewife bent on getting into show business through her husband's night club act. The response was so great that C.B.S. relented, allowing the couple to produce their sitcom...and the rest is history. A great relic from the earliest incarnation of what would become one of the most successful television shows in history, "I Love Lucy".
